NY Republican State Senator Refuses to Fire White Nationalist Staffer
Despite news breaking that his staffer Ian Reilly was a member of the violent hate group the Proud Boys, and was responsible for inviting Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes to give a now-infamous speech at the Metropolitan Club, New York State Senator Marty Golden (R) refused to fire Reilly.
On October 12, 2018, the Metropolitan Republican Club (MRC) hosted Gavin McInnes, founder of the violent hate group the Proud Boys, to speak. As part of his speech, McInnes reenacted the assassination of Japanese socialist leader, Inejiro Asanuma. After the event, dozens of Proud Boys violently attacked several protestors. Reilly was among those arrested.
