Trump Promotes Antisemitic Conspiracy About George Soros and Black Lives Matter

Donald Trump called into Fox and Friends on August 5, and suggested that the Black Lives Matter uprisings sweeping the nation and the world were being funded in part by Jewish donor George Soros: "You have Democrats funding them. They say Soros and they say other people."

The political right frequently casts George Soros as a “puppet-master” secretly orchestrating world events, fueling antisemitic stereotypes and conspiracy theories that can have devastating and even deadly consequences. Trump’s comments are far from an isolated incident; he has fear-mongered about Soros in the past, as have numerous Republican politicians.
