Rep. Steve King Promotes Article Saying it is a "Christian Duty" to Stop "Satan's Soros."
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) tweeted an article arguing that people have a “Christian duty” to stop “Soros’ plan” to bring migrants into Europe and America.
The article Rep. King (R-IA) shared cites Hungarian MP Andras Aradszki accusing George Soros, who is Jewish, of “dilut[ing] the spirit of Europe” with “the forced settlement of tens of millions of migrants.” The article goes on to quote Aradszki as claiming it is is a “Christian duty” to fight “Satan’s Soros” plan.
“Soros and his comrades want to destroy the independence and values of nation states…for the purpose of watering down the Christian spirit of Europe with the forced settlement of tens of millions of migrants…the fight against Satan is a Christian duty. Yes, I speak of an attack by Satan, who is also the angel of denial, because they are denying what they are preparing to do — even when it is completely obvious. They frantically try to prove that there is no [refugee] quota, there is no compulsory settlement, and the Soros Plan does not exist.”
The article also adds that Gyorgy Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to Prime Minister Viktor Orban, also referenced the “Soros Plan.” It goes on to quote Orban himself as saying that “Brussels has come under George Soros’s influence….We have revealed the existence of the Soros plan, and the drafter himself admitted that it exists. We have placed it in the focus of politics.”
Orban’s campaign strategy from 2013-present has largely focused on demonizing the Hungarian-born Jewish billionaire, something he and his allies in the GOP and right-wing U.S. media continue to do.
