Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Uses Jews as a Political Football.

On May 19, 2020, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) used a tweet from NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, about sending police to shut down a Yeshiva still open in violation of social distancing guidelines, to promote his own political agenda.

Cruz, who has his own history of making antisemitic comments, applied the same strategy Donald Trump, Jr. used several weeks prior in response to a different tweet from Mayor de Blasio. This is part of a calculated effort from the Republican Party to use antisemitism as a political to fracture the Democratic Party.
