Neo-Nazis and White Nationalists Rally in Virginia on MLK Day

An estimated 22,000 neo-Nazis, white nationalists, hate group members, and gun rights advocates — many of them heavily armed — rally in Richmond, VA, on MLK Day, claiming the action is in opposition to new gun violence prevention legislation proposed by the Virginia Democrats and Democrat Governor Ralph Northam. The news that multiple armed neo-Nazi and white nationalist hate groups were planning to attend the rally prompted the Governor to declare a state of emergency.

Members of the hate group the Proud Boys were in attendance, as well as known neo-Nazi Jovi Val, antisemitic conspiracy theorist Alex Jones were all spotted in the crowd. President Trump tweeted his support for the rally in the days leading up to it as well as the day-of.
