Princeton College Republicans Host Event with Congressman Who Ran Antisemitic Campaign Ads

The Princeton College Republicans hosted an event with Representative Jim Hagedorn (R-MN), who ran antisemitic campaign advertisements to win his election in 2018, prompting objections from Jewish students, one of whom wrote, “Princeton College Republicans are welcoming a figure who has made anti-Semitic remarks and invoked anti-Semitic tropes to speak.”

Hagedorn’s history of antisemitism is not restricted to his campaign advertisements; In 2008, Hagedorn suggested that then-Senator Joe Lieberman’s (D-CT) Jewish identity motivated his vote in favor of the Iraq war, and in 2002, he joked about “fumigating” a memorial service for the late Senator Paul Wellstone, using antisemitic dog whistles about “Marxists.”

About the memorial service. Was it just me or did it not seem as if someone bailed out the union thugs; tree huggers; abortion rights feminists; peaceniks; citizens for gay animal rights; NAMBLA members and the other Marxist sympathizers who protested at last month’s IMF meetings, and transported them to Wellstone’s memorial in a slew of green buses? Talk about lefties all in one convenient location. Hopefully after the ceremony they fumigated the arena.
