Neo-Nazis Suggest Attacking Synagogues During Black Lives Matter Protests

Neo-Nazi accelerationists — believers in a violent doctrine that calls for terror attacks to accelerate the collapse of society — attempted to capitalize on police forces’ focus on and violence against Black Lives Matter protestors in order to carry out attacks on Jewish communities and critical infrastructure. One user on a neo-Nazi Telegram channel called to specifically target synagogues, writing, “I wonder how many synagogues could be targeted by vicious anti-Semites who wear masks, gloves, and leave their phones at home while most police, firefighters, and paramedics are being tied up in rioting cities. A total theoretical hypothetical.”

Violent far-right groups have also advocated using the current political moment to sabotage critical infrastructure, like meddling with public water systems or taking out the electric grid.
