11 White Supremacists Revealed to Have Infiltrated the U.S. Military

Journalists reported a new total of 11 members of the white supremacist group, Identity Evropa, who were serving in or connected to the U.S. Military.

Identity Evropa was founded in 2016 by Iraq War veteran Nathan Damigo. The group was instrumental in organizing the deadly 2017 Unite the Right Rallly in Charlottesville, Virginia. Leaders of the group have advocated for white racial superiority, voiced support for David Duke, and directed hate speech against Black people, Muslims, and Jews.

Anti-fascist activists infiltrated the Identity Evropa chat on the messaging platform, Discord, in 2019 and exposed multiple people involved with Identity Evropa — including some members of the U.S. military. (Shortly after the leak, the group rebranded as the American Identity Movement).

Infiltration of government and political institutions by white supremacists, and sympathy for white supremacist views within these institutions is an ongoing problem.
